He's Finished

Postby Scott R » Wed Aug 28, 2013 6:44 pm

Finally finished up the bouy bird this past weekend. Was a fun project and I really can't wait to do another one. Interesting material to work with for sure. Just have to get a keel on it now.

Let me know what ya'll think.

Send me a bouy and I'll make you a bird from it....seriously. May take me a little while but I enjoyed doing this one.

I always hang on to my first ones I do from different materials or the first a species. Gives me something to look back on later.

If you're really serious, PM me a address and I'll send you as many as I can get in a box. I've got some of all sizes, will mix it up or send whatever size you prefer. Just let me know what size.

Very nice man. Its amazing how those crab pot bouy decoys turn out. I was recently given a pair of teal by a very well known carver. He used them on Wallops Island before they banned hunting there. They even still have a little of that gray perminant mud on them.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Really took on this project out of curiosity more or less and found myself really enjoying it.

Really nothing to it. It carved almost identical to cork.

PM sent bufflehead.
