I posted a pic of it mounted on dhc a while back. You're gonna make drive to the old house and get it. I need to finish moving everything anyways but I have priorities at the moment.

No worries about the thread fellas, its all good.
And I do sell whenever I get a commission for one, full size or mini.
The minis generally take a few hours to do depending on interruptions.
Speaking of Mandarins, my wife keeps telling me I should do one but not only does the paint job in that freak me out but the wing position is crazy. Havent quite figured out how that would work on a canvas bird.

Thanks Scott, its definitely a learning process using them. Getting them balanced right is giving me fits.

I'm having the same issue with the bouy bird I did. Never got it right before I sent it to this last show and it cost me. Definately does not ride like cork or wood. I imagine a canvas and wire bird would be similar in some respects.

Do they ride real high on the water?

They do ride a little high. A high head decoy is the worst to get balanced. Get enough to make it self right and it rides to low.
Funny thing is when I made my green wings it was pointed out, rightly so, that they were pretty narrow for their height so I adjusted my blue Wings pattern a bit wider and shorter. The GWT's have been fairly easy to balance while the blue wings are being a pain.

If you add the weight more toward the rear of the bird you can make it roll with a lot less weight than if it's in the center or front. Only problem with that is if you get too much in the rear then it rocks side to side and you have to add some to the front to stop the side to side rock. Trick if finding that sweet spot. I spend way too much time looking for that spot sometimes :D

I'll give that a shot. Our early teal ends Sunday so next week will be balancing time.
