If you are near and can keep her from licking it you can take gauze off while she is chilling. Self adhesive bandages work great for this. If bad enough superglue can work, depending on how the dog handles pain.

I do too. But paws are very important to a dog. Just wanted to make sure she got the best care I could provide.
assateague wrote:You may want to look into horse wrap (sometimes called VetWrap). They sell it at Tractor Supply pretty cheap. It's a "self-adhesive" type wrap (won't stick to anything but itself) that is used to wrap horses legs, both for riding and for holding on poultices and that sort of thing. The wife picked some up a while back after I got tired of trying to keep my horses foot in a 5 gallon bucket of water for 15 minutes at a time. Those things work like a charm, and would most likely work for a dog as well.

Westie25 wrote:The water won't be an issue, but keeping that dog from running will be impossible. I've just kept her close so she doesn't get full stride.
