Just measured and weighed him for the breeder last week- 25" at the shoulder, 66 lbs. Honestly, a little bigger than I thought

Looking good Jimbo! And to think, someone calls them ugly dogs. :D :D His size is right there with Taz, I like the long muscular legs. How is he swimming on longer retrieves?

He motors along very well. The longest he's been on has only been about 40 yards, but he swims very well now. Comfortable enough to swim around a bit, rather than trying to get in and out as quick as he can. Hard to believe, what with having no tail and all.

numbnuts had a little too much energy today, so I took him on a training session. Multiple 100 yard retrieves, some wagon wheel and fun bumpers. Needless to say he is too tired to stand up and drink. Just the way I like it.

In the second picture it looks as though Wendy is thinking "This cocaine makes me feel like I am in this picture"
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

she is the most laid back and the ugliest Labrador I have ever owned but a hell of a retriever and a joy to hunt with.

I know, I know, more pointing stuff. But never having had a pointer of any flavor before, this just still cracks me up to no end. Every time he goes out, no matter how bad he has to pee, he has to stalk around a bit first. If the chickens are off in the cornfield somewhere, he'll pee, and then head out into the field until he finds some. Just makes me laugh. If I was closer, you could see his eyebrows moving- that's what happens when he's on something, but his eyes are peeping all around to make sure he's not missing something. Looks like damn Groucho Marx or something. Kills me.

I like this video, very familiar. Every time Taz goes outside he is hunting. Whether hoping for a rabbit in the back yard, or worrying bout the rabbits and cat across the road, it obsesses him.

Here's a Chessie doing the same:
Image

Wanted to hunt him as a flusher and had to work a bit at making that of him, and even more so with my first Chessie, that also had a half brother that remained naturally staunch (held point until someone flushed for him) all of his life without a lick of training, which can't be said of many "pointing" dogs.
