Wanted to hunt him as a flusher and had to work a bit at making that of him, and even more so with my first Chessie, that also had a half brother that remained naturally staunch (held point until someone flushed for him) all of his life without a lick of training, which can't be said of many "pointing" dogs.

Very interesting thx Rick.

Seems to me that a great many animals have inherent point, just watch guys when a gal who wears her jeans well walks by. Just an arrested stalking motion, but we, perhaps inadvertently, train it out of most everything but pointing dogs, where it's encouraged with "whoa" and/or silent checkcord training.

My now long gone beagle, Chas, used to tickle me by often pointing sitting game before busting it, because those points offered a heads-up on what he had: tail would be stiff for quail or woodcock but spin like it might lift his butt for swampers or cottontails. Chas' points didn't last but a very few seconds, but there was plenty there to mold into steady points had I treated them like I have my pointing breed pups.

'Course is pisses a lot of pointing breed guys off to hear it called "point," instead of "standing game," when something without "pointing" in its name does it.

His first couple of encounters with live birds, Ki pointed them for a few seconds if they didn't flush before he saw them. I always encouraged him to go after the bird, so who knows if I'd worked on steadying him, instead.

Always tough, I was there in 2010 with my la, and 2011 with a britt. Having another around always helps, picked up my current dog in Feb of 2011.

I'm not in the market right now (kinda waiting for a certain WPG to get put to stud), but appreciate it. I was just hoping to hear that you had solid buyers for your own sanity!

Actually the guys who hunt with us like her , so the pups will go quickly is all I was trying to say.
Man you guys work hard at being hateful don't you.
How does that work out for you in life ?
Does it make you feel better about yourself.
I'm surprised the owner allows you to get away with it.

Yeah, it was porn though. She was the star of "Bitches in Heat", she is kind of a big deal.

I think someone's alittle on the defensive/ sensitive side this morning

Perhaps your right.
I got slammed pretty good a while back.
it would be unreasonable of me to think I'm not on the defensive a little.
I recant my accusation and Humbly apologize.
