oh they can get that way easy. I had a red one that was hit by a car 5 yrs ago. I made the biggest effort to acquaint him with all the neighbor kids. He was incredibly friendly as a result. But he would sure as hell round em up when they rose their bikes on the street. Love Queenslands. I'd get another just as a companion for Charlie if the ole lady would let me

Time. And the fact that I want The Dingo to be a little older before having another pup. To preserve my sanity, mostly. The one I had, Preacher, is doing great for the guy I gave him to, but he is meaner than a shitbird. Ran into my friend about a week ago, said he loves the dog because everyone- everyone- is afraid to come on his farm. More power to him- right dog, wrong situation, I suppose.

I'm antisocial as hell. The Dingo is lovable as can be with the kids, but puts the hackles up and the suspicious stink eye on anyone else, which is how I like it.

I hear ya. I live in a neighborhood at the time. I needed him to be friendly. Had I had the property, I woulda cared less. Damn good dog. That crazy fool would jump up on top of my cab when we were crushing slowly thru the country

A few more of Charlie doin some pile work this week. The humidity killed him. After his 7th or 8th shag, he turned and looked at me with that "are you kidding me" look on his face

Just a couple pics of Charlie at the trainers. Can't wait for this season to test him out on the geese!

There was an ad for German drahthaars on Craigslist the other day. Completely unrelated I know, just made me think of it.

Took Taz to go running today. No rules, no training, just energy burning fun. After letting him stretch his legs and range out looking for quail, decided to throw the dummy a few times.
Image
Image
I didn't bring any water cause we always go to the creek for a swim, this is what we found. This is where Taz first swimmed and made his first water retrieve.
Image
A 1/4 mile down the creek bed looking for water,
Image
Over a 1/2 mile later we finally found some water, was a very welcome relief for a hot and thirsty dog.
Image
Finally got him to pose for a pic. Was a very fun day, sometimes it is good to take a day off from training and let teh pooches have some fun.

Very few cold days last year, the ones we had he did well. He handled breaking ice pretty good for a young dog. Didn't lose one bird cause ofcold water so I have no complaints. His coat will continue to fill out until he is around 3 yrs old.

well if he's hunted ice, he's hunted colder water than Charlie's ever been in. We don't see much ice here

No ice and no 100 degrees, your place is sounding better every day.

I own 2 boykins, a male and a female.

Love em both, tons of drive and heart. The male is a little bit of a "different" situation, he was a buy back from my breeder. The original owners weren't taking care of him properly so my breeder bought him back from them. I had a soft spot for him and bought him. He didn't get the start he should have had, but hes comign along.
