Second pic was the day he drew the short straw and I layed claim to him at 5(?) weeks after spending some time with his sire and dam, but his breeder's wife, Kerrie Crane, gets credit for both photos.
Turned out what looked like "bad ass" was probably just cranky from having his nap interrupted, because he's as easy as his partner.
Here's the standard "cute puppy":

and "liking this new job":
I'd advise all puppy owners to take lots and lots of pictures. They'll help get you through times when he ain't so dang cute.

The 'heroic pup' looks oddly familiar to another pic of him diving off into the wild unknown. Remember having a pretty good laugh looking it over. Wish I was able to give my pup half the opportunity that Peake has at birds. Always enjoy the pics Rick.

I'd forgotten I'd even filmed that example of flotant. It's a major flood canal he's been worked up and down since puppyhood with six or eight feet of obstruction free water beneath the floating salad.
