Gopro dog vest testing

Postby Olly » Sat Mar 15, 2014 5:40 pm

One of the main reasons I wanted the gopro was to film hunting trips from the dog, shotgun and boat. Since it's been raining off and on all day I had time to make up a quick and dirty vest mount.

Not a training session just a few throws to test the vest out.

I bet if I add a strap around the base of the mount so I can make it tighter to his chest it would make it a little more stable. I want to see what attaching one to his collar under his neck will look like.

would be a cool POV, but it would not work on a water retrieve.

Might be a great pov on a retrieve.

Somebody posted one on here maybe last year where a dog was actually hunting and it was collar mounted. Retrieved 5 or 6 ducks.

i don't think it would. Cause that area of the dog's neck is usually under water on a water retrieve

I typed this slow as I know you're not a fast reader.
I am aware of the "under neck" area and the fact that it is under water on a retrieve. That's why I wrote this in response:

Maybe I should have italicized or bolded the first word in the sentence.

The Sony ActionCam has an available dog camera vest. That, paired with the excellent Sony image stabilizer and Zeiss lens are why I sold my Gopro in favor of the Sony.

The Sugarcoat company did this thing a few years ago. Neat stuff.

Translate that as, "mine's bigger" "mine's better" and "mine shoots better".
It's a pissing contest over cameras.

Olly, keep your camera out of the water as the extreme heat may crack the lens when the ice cold water hits it
