Purina vs Diamond

Postby Nebgundog » Tue May 27, 2014 11:46 pm

I have two labs, and feed them pro plan sport. But the price has gone up to $48 a bag. Thinking about going to Diamond any input?

Have seen dogs do really well with Diamond, gave Taz terrible gas, as I have also seen from a few others. My dads britts have done great with it. I had better luck with Loyall myself.

Didn't you just ask this same question a week ago?
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

One up him. Lick your own ass then lick him back.

You might be on to something, but I think he'd appreciate it. Besides i aint that flexible. I draw that line at biting when they're puppies - bite me and I'll bite you back.

Call purina and get a list of dealers. We feed pro plan 30/20 here and pay $32 a bag. Makes a difference here as we're feeding from 12-16 dogs. If feeding a dog or two buy the best food you can afford.

Gotta be more to that price than which dealer, Matt. That price has to include discounts of some sort, like bulk prices and ProPlan rebates, that aren't feasible for most folks.

Nothing special To that price Rick. The guy I buy from is a school bus driver who donates all the profits from him selling food back to the school. I have spoke with him quite a bit about being a dealer and there are others doing similar things. To be a dealer it's just get approved by purina and buy the food yourself, the dealer sets the sale price which will obviously vary from the dealers with a storefront and the private dealers like I use. Call purina get a list of dealers and call everyone of them, you may get lucky. The price I get is also not a bulk price. It's $32 if I buy 1 bag or 2 pallets.

You can call that "nothing special," but you should be counting blessings while doing so. I've contacted Purina and am still tickled to have found a source (Tractor Supply) that's only an hour and a half round trip, instead of the previous two and a half. Still about the same price as Pet Smart, but I get that gas "discount".
