Box 'O Babies

Coco finally had her pups last night. Some of you purists may not appreciate that they're 3/4 Lab and 1/4 Chessie, but that's ok, they're gonna be great hunters. Both parents are. Got 5 brown of different shades (ones almost a cinnamon color) and 5 black.
I'll post some pics after I get some sleep or plenty of coffee. She had 'em between 8:45 last night and 5:00 this morning.
Kinda feel like having a cigar. :D

Momma's doin' pretty good for her first litter. Not making a peep right now. Must be nap time.

I say the heck with a purist. A hunting dog's a hunting dog. 200 years ago Chessies weren't "pure" either.

Been talking to HNTFSH?
I'm all for giving people who can't afford 800.00 for a "duck" dog a chance to have a hunting partner. I paid 35.00 for Coco and she does great considering my lack of training ambition.
There's a guy in S.D. breeding Chessadores on purpose and people are paying pretty good money for 'em. To each his own, I say.

Brats will be 6 weeks this weekend. I'll be glad to start thinning the pack. They're quite a hand full.

We raised a litter of 5 at my place. Can't imagine 10. Although I suppose much over 3 and it really doesn't matter because you can't keep track of them all anyways, however the destrucitve factor I'm sure multiplies with each pup. Just listened to a video of when they were little screaming worm babies last night though. Cute little buggers back then.
