Textured wall paint

Postby Ricky Spanish » Mon May 15, 2023 5:45 am

My dog loves to rub on this wall because the texture.
It has a name?
According to my wife it's called rubying not rubbing.
Ruby is a verb.
Has anyone heard of "rubying "?
We have to scrub that wall once a month.

I think there is sand in the paint.

Yes, I grew up with walls that had sand in the paint, and it made for a good backscratcher, along with a corner edge!!!! I especially remember it when I had chicken pox

It's a 1950s or 1940s thing.
I've been in a few old homes with sand paint.
The sand on the walls in my boyhood home were rough compared to here. I guess because of multiple coats of paint.

This old house has double layers of drywall, is insulated, and you can't hear it rain unless it's a torrent.
