My wife and I just returned from an awesome 2 day hunt in Swan Quarter. We both bagged our swans (hers has a huge teardrop and she dropped it with a 20 guage), and mine is almost as big. We also limited out on Bluebills. Hunting is not great but it is definitely enjoyable.

Congratulations on your hunt.

What does one do with a swan?

We are mounting hers and cooking mine at my best friends baby shower. We are having waterfowl appetizers. Sean/bluebills/mallards/woodies. Will either marinate, wrap in bacon and grill or marinate in buttermilk and fry.

Sounds like a good baby shower to be at!

Right now, they talk like it's the most scoters ever been in Pamlico Sound, they're even seeing big flocks of oldsquaw which is really unusual. I've only seen a few but I'm hunting in a area we usually only see good numbers of scoters in November when they first show up.

Have been enjoying the redheads and blackheads way to much to think about seaducks, but our regular season ends next Saturday, might try them between then and Jan 31.

Yes, lots of them, right many white winged too. We didnt do much Friday or yesterday. Moon was real bad.
Last Saturday was great...nice variety. Have not seen the redheads yet, but have heard they are pretty thick.
