 There is Life on the NC board. Been working too much lately and haven't had a chance to check in lately. I figured someone needed to make a few posts for the NC crew.

My weekend will start 7:30 am Sat. Then off for 4 days -
Maybe the wife will let me do a little scouting for bucks and ducks. The seasons are approaching.

Yes they are, but the fish are starting to bite good too. Hard for me to transition to hunting mode when the fish are still biting good.

I'm from NC but I don't post in this section of the site because

1- I don't need to know where anyone else is killing ducks
2- I don't care where anyone else is killing ducks
3- I didn't apply for a permit hunt that I don't know shit about
4- I don't bitch about blind laws
5- I hunt an area with blind laws so no one is setting up 50 yards from me and shooting at me
6- I haven't heard a jr commander blowing a kazoo, ever

Think that covers pretty much all the typical NC forum nonsense, want to talk about BBQ?

He lives in chapel hill, 30-45 minutes from me and has invited me to go rabbit hunting with him. One day I'll actually take him up on the offer. Need to finally meet him.

Going for swans and sea ducks Friday/Saturday out of Swans Quarter. Looking forward to it. Anyone bagged a swan this year?

Could have killed one last Saturday in the impoundment, but don't have a permit.

That's awesome. Been reading about the building of a handicap blind out on the impoundment. I want to go see the improvement on it.

I have a swan permit, passed up on a lot of shots earlier in the season. Hunted every day last week and this week, haven't seen one. My blinds are usually wrapped up in them this late in the season.

I think I'm doing to pull a rig down next year and hunt the sound again. Probably put in for a swan tag too

Right now, they talk like it's the most scoters ever been in Pamlico Sound, they're even seeing big flocks of oldsquaw which is really unusual. I've only seen a few but I'm hunting in a area we usually only see good numbers of scoters in November when they first show up.

Have been enjoying the redheads and blackheads way to much to think about seaducks, but our regular season ends next Saturday, might try them between then and Jan 31.

Thats good to hear.

Based on what I've heard from friends around the country, I think many areas are seeing higher concentrations and odd birds around. No proof, but I'm guessing that the extreme weather is moving birds into non-traditional areas.
