Illinois and its money problems

Illinois and its money problems

Postby aunt betty » Thu Jan 30, 2014 7:48 am

Its serious. Them dummies in Springfield can't figure out how to help the Illinois economy and solve their budget problems at the same time.

My proposal:
Lower taxes.
Huh? Yeah!
If Illinois would lower its income and capitol gains tax to a rate just a bit lower than the lowest state...people with money would move here, start businesses, and there would be economic growth thus expanding the Illinois tax base...
Illinois Govt. would have to tighten its belt for a few years and that's why it won't happen.

Wtf do they teach political science majors? For sure it's not economics.

A government can not stand without a stable and sound foundation (tax base). Hello?
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

Asking the Democrats to solve poverty is like asking Phillip Morris to solve nicotine addiction.

They understand economics very well. What is one of the fundamental rules of economics? People overwhelmingly act in whatever way is in their own individual best interest. Is there any group where that is more true than politicians?

What is in the best interest of the politicians?

If you are a Democrat politicians, where do you have political advantage? In a prosperous community or a poverty-stricken community?

So why do you think the Democrat politicians in Springfield did not learn economics?

Don't blame the politicians for doing what is in their best interest. That's just what basic economics predicts they will do.

Blame the idiot voters that think politicians are looking out for the people and not for the politicians. They are the ones that need to learn a little basic economics.

And what political party does freedom and prosperity serve? NONE. That's why the establishment Republicans never seem to get around to cutting the budget or reducing the scope of government. Who is going to pay them to do that?
