yep, you got a lot of trimming to do, and I'm betting you'll have a few spots where you end up trimming your trimcannon wrote:jehler wrote:How is the mansion coming along?
SLOWLY. Still gotta finish bathrooms, rails, flooring, and do six months of trimming. Found out that tin should always be laid, never hung. Hanging tin sucks.

laughed out load, yeah, the concrete can screw you, ya either have to spend a crazy amount of time with a laser and cutting all your first floor studs to a line or put your six guns and spurs on, get rid of the level and get to work!cannon wrote:jehler wrote:yep, you got a lot of trimming to do, and I'm betting you'll have a few spots where you end up trimming your trim
It'll be the least professional build in the history of mankind. I faintly recall you saying "just make sure everything is square . . . it'll make a huge difference when you're finishing." Well, I didn't do that.
I have learned that a bad concrete job will haunt you to the very end of construction, that its impossible to square interior walls when you start with exterior walls that aren't, and whilst a $64 nail gun will do the trick, a $64 miter saw probably wont.
She's a heap, but I can actually say that I've got my signature on every gap in every corner that doesn't quite match up. I'm kinda proud of that.
