Here is one of a friends dog mooching for snacks when he heard me digging in my blind bag. This was his first time back out hunting after getting a tumor removed from his shoulder.

He was happy to be back, and brought us some good luck.

This little girl was just starting into her second season. She gets to ride in the back seat of a brand new truck to, and from the hunt every time.

Yep, my family never hunted ducks with dogs when I was younger but when I got my golden hoss when I was 11 it was on. Because I was 11 and had never trained a dog before it was interesting but eventually probably more to my dogs credit he got it. I was constantly told he would never be very good by friends because he was not a lab, and he was not from some majestic blood line. He turned out to be a great duck dog and between the ages of 6 and 9 he was just plain awsome. My buddy's still talk about some of his retrieves he made for them. Of course he got old and after a while I was just taking him because he earned his right to go. (I could go get the birds faster then him). Of course about 3 years ago I had to make the hardest decision of my life and had to put hoss down. I'm not going to lie I cried like a baby all day, then I went to the bar and got hammered with my buddy's toasting every shot to Hoss.

Lucky for me we had found Hoss a girlfriend when he was younger so we knew someone who had one of his son's. about a year after Hoss died they bred his son and of course I had to have one. I think sprig did good for his age last year but I'm sure if some professional got ahold of him they would say he's a disaster.I just train obedience mainly to me that's most important, as long as he listens and gets the bird I'm happy.

That was a long winded response but I'm kinda proud of my golden's and my wife's lab. I love how each dog gives you a different set of challenges. The wife's lab has an issue with wanting to break from the blind and chase birds that are working the spread. Sprigs biggest problem is he does not mark well yet I'm hopping this changes with experience and a little work with the bumper.

I'd drink to that.

Good to hear, look forward to following alobg with everybodys pups, especially the young ones. So far Taz has made great strides this year, one of these days I will get good enough to finish him properly.

I really need to get on that. Last weekend he was having a hard time going through. Have been spending lots of time lining through bumpers the same way you are with decoys.
