180 gr. Hornady Round Nose w/ Cannelure

What range do you zero your rifles for bear?

We were just shooting at 100. After that, we went back to the house and I loaded up 30. 10 for the bear hunt and 20 for sighting in next weekend. Next weekend, we'll get it lined up at 100, then have it striking dead on at 200, then back at 100 to see how high it shoots. I don't expect it to be more than 2-3" high. That's America at its finest, that M70 is.

Sounds like a good plan. I would also shoot three rounds at 300 to see that drop in inches

Might as well; never hurts. He wants me to get a bear tag as well but I really don't want to skin one nor eat one.

I am the same way and have shot black and brown bears, I don't need to kill anymore unless they are huge or become a problem.

Why is he so proud of 3 misses? None are really all that close to the center of the target...

They're half an inch off center. We're talking group size here pull your head out of your ass and go suck some dicks elsewhere.

Wouldn't it be better is the group was in the center of the target? Like where he actually aimed?

Stu could probably hit where he aimed...

Yeah, it will be centered next weekend. We were checking load accuracy not precision. All it would take is 4 clicks right.

I wouldn't buy a gun with the knowledge that it can't hit the center of a target.

Thank God you've kept us updated. I was concerned that old Dusty's '06 would be shooting all willy-nilly on his bear hunt, luckily you can hit a target the size of a cowboy cookie with a gem sized group.
