So about 6 years ago I bought my first terror .700. There seems to be a learning curve, especially on true decoying birds, really concentrate on the head, but it really made a difference regardless of ammo and shot size as far as better pattern density, especially at the core.
So I then got brave and bought the .675,really is nice on marginal birds,or low percentage going away,or bad angle shots. Once again,at least in my browning and SX3,I am confident in most any ammo I put through it
Patternmaster is also a good product, however, one must watch black cloud through the ported version because the leaflets on the flight control wad will hang

Because you're just better than me. I bet you even count your ducks and know what species they are.Ericdc wrote:aunt betty wrote:I use nothing but #2 winchester welding slag and have pulled off some amazing stunts with it. 100-yard snows for instance.
Yea. I don't try stunts, especially on passing geese. Just don't like crippling them, or burning shells on a snow goose. It's your money though ha.
There were balloons set at 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, and 200 yards UP so we could range in on em. Don't all snow goose hunters do this?Ericdc wrote:How can you verify 100 yards? Was it a ground swat?
johnc wrote:No way I can begin to imagine consistently hitting beyond 50 yards, even though the choke and load may be effective beyond that
The likelihood of NOT having to chase birds at that distance is low--- and I AM THE DOG---so I would rather not spend the hunt chasing cripples all over and miss the prime time window to get something decoying
We may try a marginal shot every now and then, only to say, yep, too far and carry on trying to get the birds closer
But if a man can consistently harvest at 50 and beyond, more power to him
