Wife woke me up at 1 am Tuesday morning to tell me her water had broken. We didn’t have bags packed, as she wasn’t due until Halloween, so it was pandemonium for a few minutes as we loaded up and took off for the hospital an hour away (poor Legh thought duck season had arrived early and was sorely disappointed when she didn’t get to go). Made it in plenty of time and our son Beau was born at 215 that afternoon. Mom and baby are doing exceptionally well, especially for him being 4 weeks early.
With him being born early, that makes it much more likely that I’ll get to make my planned trip for opening weekend in the middle of November as well as being able to make multiple trips afterwards. I’m pretty excited on both fronts, having the baby here healthy and the prospect of being freed up for more duck trips!

Congrats! My first was born on Oct 2 and I made out OK for the season.
Well cool, our little ones share a birthday. I hope to be able to report that my experience mirrors yours!
