4x4 upgrade

Postby Ricky Spanish » Wed Aug 24, 2022 3:13 pm

Have been seeing them new utility beds and thought hey...that's an option for me.
Fuck buying a new truck it's only got 110k.
Get me some doors off an Alabama wreck and I'm good.
My wife got promoted again. Could just buy a new truck but I kind of like the old dodge..

Thought about it. The roads in, around, to, and from the wma's I use would tear it up.
I may squat in Chad's yard this year.
He has a camper he's trying to sell me.

I just got back from Denver where I bought a super clean 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax loaded, drove my rust bucket out and traded it. The Toyota had 213,000 miles on it when I bought it and then drove it home so it's got 214K + on it now. Ran flawlessly all the way back to Pa.. Dam there's nothing on the radio when going through Nebraska, and Iowa unless you want to listen to some bible thumper. Regardless, I always wanted to go out west and get a vehicle, now I can cross that off my list....

No one seems as eager as you to spend the money your wife and Momma earned.

Anyone use a gasoline additive like Seafoam or Marvel Mystery oil ? I have been using seafoam in all of my equipment and it's hard to tell what if any effect it has. I do like the idea that it is cleaning injectors and such. What do yunse guys use?

I use seafoam in every engine I own, fuel and oil. Started putting it in oil after I had to replace a motor in my 5.3 Chevy due to a seized lifter.

Stabil. I've had great luck.
Stuff just keep running and ppl say how good my motor runs as they're struggling to keep theirs going in icy conditions. I think it matters.
Caught the wife looking at trucks.
Dang. She wants nice and bigger.
Something capable of a slide in camper or towing an rv.

The one she found was green and had a moon roof.
27 speakers ...lol
I dont trust these new cars.
Toyota? They drive themselves out of control and crash at highway speed when the driver loses control of the brakes and throttle "mysteriously".
I think Hillary is in charge of that.

Somewhere I have video of 7-mile road..it's a bit rugged and wild. That might make it intact. In two words I can say why you dont want that truck.
"Carrier bearings"..

It needs a round door. Call it the hobbit hole

So far all I've done is a downgrade.
The mirror is off.

Three nuts and a wire connection.
I thought it had an air duct.
The heated mirror is electrical.
Who knew?

Can't believe it all still works.
I'm pretty rough on that old truck but they say I drive like a grandma.

The new mirror is not quite as good as original.
It "feels" every bump in the road and does a lot of jiggling but you're not supposed to look at it much.
The original on left is solid.
They're just not made the same.
