Antique cars

Postby Tiler_J » Fri Jan 25, 2013 12:02 am

I have been helping my Dad lately with his cars, just thought I would share a few pictures of his current cars. I hope you like them.

First is a 1908 2-cylinder Northern. The front fenders are off because we just got the motor back in the car.

1910 4-cylinder Buick.

1911 6-cylinder Stevens-Duryea.

That Duryea looks like its at a pretty fancy car show.

Looks like a spendy hobby. Nice cars.

My 1993 hunting truck is closing in on becoming an antique.

My Dad has the cars for fun and investments. He knows antique cars and they are about the only thing he has made money on. He had the Stevens professionally restored by a friend that talked him into entering it into the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2 years ago. It was an interesting cars show, lots of million dollar plus cars. It was cool to see the cars, but he won't ever go again.

I'd imagine you would sneeze and people would get pissed off for getting snot on the cars or something.

It all depends on who owns it. My kids climb all over my Dad's cars and pretend to drive, honk the horns, slam the doors, and try to shift the gears. It all depends on if you own the car or the car owns you. He drives these cars in local and regional tours. No trailer queens in his garage. They are fun to drive, each car is set up how each company decided to lay out the pedals and gears. Each one takes a little getting use to, besides driving on the wrong side of the car.

You need to bring one of those down to the duck club. Ride from the cabin to the blind in style!!!

That would be pretty cool, I just wish I could get my Dad to go duck hunting with me. He was down near the club and your neck of the woods last year or year before,on a tour. Only problem with the old cars is that most of them go pretty slow and you can't drive at night, the headlights don't work. It would make driving out to the blind very interesting in the morning.
