TSS Turkey loads

TSS Turkey loads

Postby Eric Haynes » Thu Mar 07, 2013 4:59 pm

So I am wanting to finally try the stuff, but I don't reload, so I have a few questions.

If I pay for materials/shipping/labor, etc. would anyone be willing to load me some?

What are the shot sizes available in TSS?

Can it be done by May 1st?

Yes as in, you want some too, or you want to load some.

I was thinking about #9 shot. Maybe an oz. or so, but I guess that would be on your side. I'll try whatever, just want to use it and try a turkey with it.

#9s would definitely work, 7s give plenty of pattern at 40 yds with
1.5oz shot. My theory is the biggest pellet that gives adequate pattern density. Would like to see what kibd of numbers I could put up with 9s though.

At 1300 fps TSS 9's will penetrate ballistics gel 1.5" at 70 yards, pretty impressive, that's almost identical ballistics to a lead 4 at that range except 1 1/4 oz of TSS 9's gives you 450ish pellets!

That's what I'm saying. Screw bigger shot, I want to liquify it.

There was a video a while back of someone taking a turkey with #12 TSS at like 60 yards. Dropped it stone dead and the head was like jello. I can't seem to find it anymore...maybe PETA petitioned to remove it.

Let's do it! Almost gaurantee 300 hits in 10" at 40 yatds, with a light, low recoil load. With #7 I counted 7 complete pass through pellets in the upper breast on a bird lasered at 81 yards.

Basically my post was to get someone to do all of the work, and just reap the benefits. Shoot me a PM with what I owe ya. I could order stuff and just have it sent to you also. Lemme know!

How much do I need to buy? I've never reloaded, so I don't know the deal.

Planned on it.

What's the consensus here. #8? 3lbs?

Not looking good guys. Hal is getting a load in this week, but it is already all spoken for. He won't be able to get the next load shipped out until May. I'll look and see what else I can come up with.
