This and he shouldn't have put himself in the situation. I don't loose any sleep over death. Outside of someone being murdered, if it is your time to go you're gonna die doing whatever it is you're doing. Doesn't matter if you're sleeping, eating, fucking, driving, hunting, fishing, jumping out of a plane when death comes, you die.

It occured to me that blowing out someone tires in the ditch might be a good thing. After my mail box is built I am going to lay out a few long boards with lots of nails in them, at least it might help me find a guilty neighbor LOL

What if your own dog, mailman, or a neighbors kid impales feet on them nails? Booby traps aren't the answer TK.

Vent it all out here and just go put up the new mailbox.

Coming from you, that means something. I know you well enough to know you would be at least as pissed as I am over this.

But I am about over it. Going to erect a temp mail box, and then one that will last me the rest of my life.

It's a mailbox. Take it as one of lifes challenges. Build one out of plate steel, you wanted to learn to weld anyhow! Paint a bullseye on it and consider it a game!

I dug around in the barn and found the last mail box that was run over. With some bending and pounding, I got it working again. I need to get a new pipe tomorrow and assemble it.
