Termacell

Postby Olly » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:07 pm

Does it really work? I can't step foot in the back yard without getting attacked. I will also need something for early season here.

I haven't used mine much but I'm a believer so far. Not too expensive either if I remember right.

Works great in enclosed places like blinds or shooting houses, but not too well in the wind.

Same as Rick. I don't have one, but my older cousin has one went on the youth deer hunt with me a few years back. We were in a WMA that was about 50% flooded...there were enough Mosquitos to carry you away, but inside the tent there were NO Mosquitos with the thermacell running.

They work and are well worth the money. As Rick and Nuff said, they aren't to good in the wind. Other than that, it's like you are in an invisible bubble and skeeters won't bother you.

100% accurate. I stick mine in the umbrella hole of the table on the deck (Enough shade trees to make an umbrella useless). With no wind, it works perfectly. If you want to sit down wind of it, and let the "smoke" run into you, it's a decent one man fix.

They're great. I use them setting treestands in the summer, in the hybrid during early goose, and when out scouting. They work very, very well.

I use one in my Hybrid during early teal and goose, works pretty good. I plan getting a couple to put out by the pool. If there's a Skeeter within a 100 miles it'll find my wife.

So for a hike through the woods thier pretty much useless? I've been thinking about getting one too but if it won't work for hikes I probably will stick to sprays.

It'll work for that. Unless by "hike" you mean "running through the woods like a banshee". Then no.

Wife uses one when they go trail riding on horseback, and I can't imagine you hike faster than a horse walks.
