Left over tomato sauce with ground veal. Penne. Tomatoes with basil salad. Rioja wine.

Ha ha...for sure.

We looked at a request from some "ballers" that wanted to put a vineyard in up there. They needed an investor, not a bank.

Oh, it wasn't the price that scared me.

It was their lack of equity, or cash to put into the project.

The fact that they were Hollywood types with ZERO experience growing grapes or making wine didn't give me the warm fuzzy's either.

That's easy.

For example, if you have a $1mln+ annual salary - I'd expect you to have more than $17,000 in cash/marketable securities laying around. To put it in perspective - that's less than 1 weeks pay.

Damn Dan, there you go with your ballbustin' banking self and having expectations. Don't you know it's a new warm and fuzzy world, filled with rainbow thoughts, purple ribbons and, most important, redistribution of wealth. How is this new program gonna work if you don't hand out the duckets? :D

just threw a slab of baby backs on the grill with applewood chips. Fixin to make some garlic redskins to be thrown on there later along with some asparagus too, and for desert we're having grilled pineapple.

Just did a quick rub with pappy's seasoning, basting with applejuice and maple syrup.
