So your saying someone that crosses YOUR line, makes them unethical? Each state sets limits within the Federal Guidelines. Some guys travel all over the US and Canada in one season. If they're not breaking the law, how is what they're doing unethical?

Lots of legal things are unethical. If you are looking to the government for your moral boundaries, then you're not looking in the right place.

Get real! If someone chooses to shoot 300 birds in a season that's their choice. If you don't think 300 is ok doesn't mean everybody else has to follow your rules.

The guy making a buck is not killing a thousand on his own. His/her clients are killing them.

There are some places that shooting 50 birds a season may hurt and some places that you can't even touch the population by shooting thousands

Limits aren't set for the average Hunter....they are set for the 10% of the guys that already kill 90% of the ducks.

A very respected federal biologist that hunts with me says that 90per cent of all ducks killed are killed by 10 per cent of all hunters. The government allows me to kill that many. Yes in my early years I was known as an outlaw and I got caught. Haven't broke the law since. Skirted it and by definition we all do at times. I enjoy calling and watching birds now more than shooting. I love to carry people that rarely if ever gets a chance to kill a limit every day. But just to go and enjoy the company? We can do that at my house with a bottle of shine and watch the nature channel. I am a duck hunter! It is my intent everyday to kill all the law will allow! If you want to go with me and watch, that's fine but the watching stops at about 20 yards and then the big guns go off! Send me a pm. I'll take you for free! And that was my argument with the committee for 2 hen mallards when setting bag limits for MI this year.

Studies prove Hunter mortality have basically zero effect on the populations. So if you believe things to be so tenuous with the species that it cannot sustain 1 additional bird per hunter, then you should be advocating for a total season closure.

They laughed and said if I were to have a warden go to all the trouble to come to my house and look it's because I was already in hot water for being suspect of breaking other laws. Once you are home in your deep freeze they don't care.

The law is purposefully left undefined as to what constitutes possession, as was said before no warden is going to come check the freezer unless they've already got you toe-tagged and are just piling on charges.

I hunt with a couple CO's regularly and they both consider possession limits are for when you are in the filed and end when you reach your place of permanent residence.

When I was 5 I shot animals with a BB gun for the fun of it. I turned 6 and realized that was fucked up.
Point being, I kill animals only with the intent of eating them, I can't imagine eating 300+ ducks in a year and that is where I'm coming from. Seems irresponsible to kill more than I can eat and a waste of game to kill something with no intention of eating it.
