set the cruise at 80 and keep to the left, that's how I roll

And when someone comes up behind you in the left lane doin 95 and flashing their lights for you to move over. Do you do it? Or do you take a page out of my book and hold your ground, wait for them to pass in the open middle lane and give them the one finger salute?
i only do 80 if I'm in the lead, if some yahoo wants to do 95 I get over let em by and then take up 100 yards behind him while he runs interference. Can't get caught this way, highway patrol is way to dumb

Yup. Use a canary.

And if you sit in the left lane when there are open lanes to the right, you're a jack wagon. Regardless of your speed.

I'm in GA. Gonna spend a few weeks here seeing the family.

Oh man this trip isn't even over yet. Still 30 minutes until I get to my parents house 22 hours is long enough, I couldn't imagine doing it hung over

Doc is a driving expert. I watched him run through a stop slowing to about 35 with a cop parked and watching. He walked away free.

I tend to cruise at or around the speed limit but will go 3 or 4 over.
I used to drive about 20 minutes to and from school every day when I was in college.
Had plenty of time to think on the daily rides.
On the way I often pondered the question, "how fast do I have to go when I'm X minutes late?"
If I started out 5 minutes late...I would have to go 90 the whole way to make it on time.
I also calculated the risk of getting caught speeding at 90 mph on the rural roads I drove. (very low)
Thought about the risk of wrecking into someone else or them pulling out in front of me etc. ( kind of high)
Determined its not worth the risk of losing my vehicle and possibly my life because I effed up and started out late.
Call it "sixth sense" but I often catch myself wanting to speed, being tempted, and within minutes I see a state trooper. :tk:

The last time I got cited for speeding was in the late-1900's. lol
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

If I were to be the first car stopped in this " double stop" an the cop passed me and went after the front car. I would take off again assuming he didn't want me.

No, no, you pull over and slow down because an emergency vehicle is behind you, then as he passes to get the forget vehicle too, you continue on

I don't speed. If I ever get a ticket, it'll most likely be for going too slow. I'm just not in that much of a hurry to get anywhere, I guess. My one and only speeding ticket was in 1985.

A month or so ago I was going 50 in a 55 in my company truck. Some punk ass kid comes flying up and tries to pass but I closed the gap between me and the car in the left lane, didn't let punk ass through. He got pissy and yelled some comment at the next light, my brother flipped him the bird and I told him to get out of the truck and grab the kids door handle. He tried, and bitch ass floored it.
By the time we got back to the shop he had already called and threatened to bring his dad to talk, and said we had a lawsuit coming, but he never showed up. Every once in a while, when I'm in a bad mood, I think about inviting Mr Gomez to come down to the shop to visit.
