my new plumber told me that phrase just a month ago, I tore apart drywall yesterday to re-do a shower valve body that was installed to far back. It's like that phrase guarantees a fail?

Used double reeds for 20 years before changing to singles. Tried several times before but lockedcem up hard a lot and gave up.
Thought calling was all about blowing on the call right. Its not. There is a whole lot more to it and using double reeds too much got me some bad ideas and habits.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

I have two doubles and two singles on my lanyard. I roll deep. They all have their place I think.

I have to say I have heard some people working DR that sound very duck like.

I am making the move to SR, it has been a learning curve.

Sometimes you'll hear a hen that sounds so much like a DR-85 you'd swear another hunter was moving in on your spot. And there's a whole cult of Zink XR-2 fans who'll swear a mallard doesn't sound as much like a mallard as it does.

The difference between what a fellow who really knows his business is apt to kill with a good double or single is small. Timing, cadence, volume and attitude all matter more than the difference between the tones the two types are capable of.

But singles are capable of greater tonal range and, perhaps more importantly, more fun to run once you've got a handle on them.

I'm wit' him. I've had a couple of Wing Setters long enough to break the tie eyes off them and didn't see any practical advantage over simpler whistles. (No barrel stickers, but I did have a baseball card in my bicycle spokes for a while.)

I've tried a few of the simple megaphone type whistles, couldn't convince myself the bells served real purpose and settled on the Haydel whistle. It's loud, light and I can stick it in the corner of my mouth and "advertise" for unseen game at LST or in dense fog while BSing with my hunters.

To me the haydel's is far more comfortable than the megaphone type. I also like that it has the clip for attaching it to the lanyard. I put it on the same drop as the dog whistle.

Not shitting with you at all but I heard that the Murff stuff was way overpriced for what it cost. Not my opinion but what I heard. What do you think about it?

I like it. Sounds sharp but as far as price I couldn't tell you I got it as a wedding gift. They are made here and yuba city and I know the family.
