Jealous of your son QH!
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Awesome guys! Glad my nephew is finally interested in hunting, after a few years of chasing turkey, he wants to upland and waterfowl hunt. Very excited about the upcoming year.

yours too Dan. So your son with the glasses. Has he always worn the metal frames glasses? How old is he now? Shannon and I have been trying to decide when to ditch Jack's plastic frames for something nicer? He's only 5 1/2 though

No, he wore goggles until he was 4 and then we switched him to the metal frames. The ones he wears now have a wire under some heavy plastic and you can heat the stems with a heat gun or hair dryer and bend them to fit over his ears, adjusting as he grows. You can also take them and bend the stems about 110* (nearly completely backwards) without breaking the hinge at the eyepiece. He's 10 now and has learned to be pretty careful with them, it's kind of a judgment call if you think he's responsible enough to take care of them, because new ones are expensive and take time to replace, I bet he went through 10-12 pair between 4-8.

I shit you not - less than two weeks after getting his first metal frames (after waiting 3 months for the prescription lenses), dumbass here takes him for a boat ride, we pull into the dock and he's pissed off that the rides over and starts throwing a fit - grabs his glasses and gives them a fling and $1,700 went to Davy Jones's locker just like that.

holy shit 10-12 pr between 4-8?! Maybe we'll just stick to the cheap plastic frames for awhile longer. I don't think he's quite ready yet. The plastic just kinda loses its shape and doesn't bend back into place as well

Every 6 months, and that's not counting the ones broken/lost/swimming.

I've got letters of medical necessity and all kinds of shit - you think I could get insurance to pay for even one pair?? Ha! Just grit your teeth and move on.
