Dilemma

Postby Goldfish » Fri Jul 19, 2013 1:27 pm

I've been saving up my tips from the hotel. Do I buy a handgun, or get a new bowstring so I can bow hunt this year?

I got my carry permit, but the bow has the potential to feed me with deer.

Get a cheap bow string AND a handgun. If your bow string is as much as a handgun, I think you're getting ripped off

Seriously, how much are you looking to spend here. We've got a guy here in town that does all of our bow strings, and I've heard nothing but good things from him. I think he charges about $100, outta check him out and if you like them, I'll put in a good word for you...

I don't need either.
The bow string I'm figuring well run no more than 200, but if I get that, I won't have enough for a hand gun.

I'm really leaning toward an XD

That's what mine cost. Much nicer than the original string that was on it.

Is that install too tho? I don't have a bow press, and I really should have someone who knows what they are doing take a look at my setup.

You'll definitely need someone to press it for you, can't help you out there...

Yes, it was either $100 or $120.

A craze. The cheapest one, but it's still twice the bow my other one is/was. I'm contemplating if I don't grind the crack down and fill it back with fiberglass resin, or just leave it as is. I had them back it way down to around 30lbs and I'll use it for bow fishing

That's no joke. Don't fuck with bows, they can mess you up pretty bad. Bowfishing has enough risks without a fucked up bow thrown in the mix.

Even turning down to 30 with two good limbs is playing with fire. Sounds like all they know how to do is sell matthews to evey one who walks in at that shop.
