We don't ever get that mallard overcast, but the ducks we have all concentrate on the water we don't have. It's always pretty consistent.

I live in in central New Mexico, and shoot at ducks over a small red dog. Came to hunting later in life, and am trying to make up for missed time.

Haven't really had a lot of opportunity to have him try. Although as a puppy he did pull in 6 geese from about 100 yards while tuning up and down the dock.

Really just getting started. Geese a couple of times last year. No luck. Hopefully better luck this time around. Also going to try my hand at duck.
