RCP In Progress

Postby RickC » Sun Jul 14, 2013 7:10 pm

I was able to finally start on the Red Crested Pochard thats going on the western travels. Got the framing dine and ready to cover along with drawing out a bead, getting it cut out and ready to carve up. All that and the shop was air temp was 104 by 2pm. Today we had a front come through bringing little rain but dropped the temps to the 80's.
Hope to set the eyes, get the canvas in and shrunk and it'll be ready to paint.

Definitely, but that mugs holding my iced tea 8-)
Thanks guys, the heads not going to be dead on but pretty close. Suckers have Martian heads, decided to cut off a little more to keep the weight tolerable, either that or I was going to hollow th top half if the head.

Pretty much done. Body was painted with Rustoleum, basswood head head painted with acrylics. I painted and repainted the head a couple times from just trying some different things.
All thats left is sealing the bottom and adding a weighted keel if needed.

Thanks guys, its not exact but I think it'll be pretty cool in a spread.
And I hope that it gets enough interest for a raffle after the season. Proceeds will go to charity.
