Saw this one about 15 years ago, still laugh about it today. My Dad, Brother, Grandpa and I decided to go to the river for a little bankfishing, and at this particular stretch of river, some of the best fishing is right upstream of the boat launch. So we are about 75 yards upstream of the launch and we hear a boat motor absolutely screaming at the launch, sounded like someone was trying to trailer their boat at 50 mph. We look towards the ramp to see this guy with his bass boat pressed up against his tailgate with his 150 at full throttle. He was fighting a losing battle and within a matter of seconds, he backed off and we watched the truck and trailer roll into the water, and in about 30 seconds, the whole package was under about 20 ft of water. Come to find out, the guy had stored his boat/trailer at the river and had purchased an old truck for the express purpose of launching his boat. He said that his shifter was always a little loose, and that in this particular instance, when he hit the trailer, it jarred his truck enough that his truck dropped into reverse and proceeded to idle itself back into the river. The worst part of the ordeal, is that he was able to get the truck/trailer pulled out after a diver and wrecker showed up, but to the best of my knowledge, he never did find the ATV that floated out of the bed of the truck. He was pretty pissed about the ATV, didn't give a shit about the truck.
To achieve success, one must possess dedication, passion and a boatload of decoys.
