The must for hunting

Postby Lamboicon » Thu Jul 25, 2013 5:17 pm

I'm fairly new to duck hunting. I have deer hunted must of my life. I understand there are tools or items that I used to help me kill deer. I use to have a pulley system I made to help hang deer stands. But I know no longer hunt deer and only duck hunt. So what is some tool you use to make your life easier. Homemade or from the store.

Orrrrr you can just cut the bottom off your under shirt and then cut it into strips but if your huntin with Olly go more than 30 feet away from the boat/blind. He will gag and then complain for the entire hunt.

Fuck you, that was a demon shit and you know it.

Seriously, fuck spinners. I'm not a fan. I remember when they first came out, I was like 12, it was a pole with a single flat peice of sheet metal for a wing that spun. Brown on one side white on the other. Worked great. I remember the first time using it, a group of grays literally lit on top of it.

They are way over used. I hunt the local WMA a few times a season. It's all divided into zones that you have a draw for in the morning. You get a corn strip to hide in and throw the deeks in flooded crops out front. You get about a 300 yard section to hunt. Basically it's a shit show, but it's kinda fun once in a while fighting with the rest of the guys for a couple ducks. Every party uses a spinner, so may times I pull mine and for some reason the ducks seem to come to me. :-)

Her is a map of it just so you get what I'm talking about. The fields are 160 acres each.

The first time I have ever used a goal post spinner was 1999 opening day at our property. It was ridiculous, I was out helping my new lab at the time retrieve a cripple and had a group of mallards try and land on me right next to the damn thing. To bad they don't work like that any more. From time to time I'll put out a couple teal mojo's. It seems to work some days.

I need to see if my dad still has that spinner. It may still work ok being that it's different than the all the new ones.

Theirs alot of guys out here that think they work better then the mojo type full body spinners. I don't use the goal post any more because it's to damn heavy to haul around. The teal are nice and light.
