I suppose, better to make sure that you can cover people's butts who don't have their crap together than get more people involved. You guys are steering this like a good old boys club, which is fine, but you're excluding some good ole boys from it. 7 of them. Everybody on this forum pretty much knows every ody else.

Not my deal though, so whatever floats your boats.

We are not trying to exclude anyone. There wasn't a predetermined list of who could sign up or not sign up it was first come first serve. We just made a choice early on to limit at to 15 people for the ease of it. This is my first year running a site like this and just wanted it to be easy, next year I want to do two decoys one for each coast for the explicit purpose of allowing more to join in.

Don, I know you're better than that to come on here accusing us of trying to make a good ole boys club. The fact is this is a small forum were 98% of us all know each other (for now). I'd like to see that change and it will with time.... remember we've only been online for 2 and a half months.

There wasn't any requirements other than to throw your name up on the list, so that's taking a lot of trust in others. If it's the "regulars" that got in on it, so be it, but it was first come first served with no requirements for time of membership or post count.

You've never shot an African Pygmy Goose?

I'm thinking you have a year to perfect your African Pygmy Goose decoy

But for real that Mandrian looks awesome and it's pretty damn cool you carved it for us to use.

:( No, I didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed, wiseass.

I'm not on the list, nor think i should be. I've got 3 other decoys to hunt over this season or I would try to.

All I'm saying is the list you have so far is all people we know, pretty much. Is Lopez going to flake out and not ship it to Tman? How about you, John? Do we have to have 4 weeks of cushion because you fear you won't be able to get it out on time?

It's not like you have a list of unknowns who you may have to cover their butts, thats all. Give some of the guys here some credit.

The good old boys club thing maybe wasn't accurate entirely. It wasn't that far off though. In all honesty, you're leaving a lot of space open where you could bring in a new person or another regular. If you just clicked on this, opened it up and read who's on the list and the friendships between the members, would you feel welcomed to join in.

I'm not saying it IS a good old boys club, but if you didn't know any better and read the thread, you might be confused.

Not stirring up crap, but clyde signed up early in this and isn't on the list. Did he just get cut off or was he overlooked? Did i miss something?

Don believe it or not the only members here that I was on a first name basis when this whole thing started was Jehler. So good ole boys it ain't, to me everyone on the list is new and I'm looking forward in sharing the decoy with them.

I believe you, honestly.

I'd like to see this forum grow for you and the best way is to include as many people as posssible, make the threads interesting and keep the decoy moving. When you cut 4-7 weeks out, you are giving people less reason to open the thread and see what is new. You give the decoy less travel time and it will see less states...

pfft, screw the new guys ;)

I hear what your saying, but really, last season I had to take a day off work to get the blocks shipped, and getting them to Rick hall by thursday cost me almost 80$. Not that big of a deal but a little leeway would be nice. I could care less about having it for a weekend, I could care less about a schedule, but, i see why it may be important to many that have regular hour jobs to have it for a certain weekend. I could get it on a Monday and ship it on a Thursday and be fine. Honey badger. To be honest, if I don't have to do any of the planning, just, get it hunt it and ship it, I'm not to concerned with criticizing the way it's handled.

That's sweet!
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.
