it's not fancy. Just a little country bakery that serves breakfast and lunch. A place where a few local hunters and dairymen meet in the mornings to bullshit over dainty coffee cups and good eats

We used to stop in to something similar after goose hunting when we were kids. Old country store, wooden floors, just down the road from the dairy farm we hunted. Couple farmers hanging out, but mostly deer hunters. Usually get a grilled cheese with bacon and a yoo-hoo.

This place had pickled pig ears and pickled eggs in those big jars on the counter. Never tried any...

I'm still missing it, this place is just off limits because the owner is a crazy bitch? Is this a new owner or did she just go crazy? Is the food still good? I'd put up with a hell of a lot of crazy for some good post hunt food.

she's always been crazy, but has finally gone off the deep end. Offended coworkers of mine. Offended other customers of hers. She bought her whole block and is kicking out the loleta meat market next door to expand her 5 year old bakery. The meat market is a beloved family owned joint that's been in business there over 60 years. But with all that in mind...her food is some of the best in the county. I'm torn. Maybe I should just swallow my pride and continue visiting the bakery nazi. The location is perfect for post hunt meals

how did she offend you guys? i can't really see deciding to not to go to a place that is just expanding. The fact that she can compete with krispy kreme and the like surprises the hell out of me. if she's doing well enough to expand her small, private business that's great, our country needs more small businesses like that again instead of starbucks and krispy kreme. I'd personally support her business over any corporate shop. Yes, it sucks that a long time business is going under, but if they can't hold their own in the game, it was bound to happen eventually. if you're debating not going back, i would base it solely on her attitude rather than her expanding business.

her foods almost worth it. When I say it's good, I'm honestly convinced she's replaced her sugar with coke and sprinkles meth in our coffee. Remember the Seinfeld soup nazi? That's her. You stand in line auschwitz style and she tells you what you're gonna get that day. But you're never disappointed. It used to be worth the humiliation
