Cowboy's first rodeo

Postby QH's Paw » Sat Aug 17, 2013 4:47 am

As some of you know, I've been gone to Wyoming again. The point of the trip was to watch my Grandson, Hunter, in his first ever rodeo. Here are a few of the shots from the trip. I'll get more posted when I have time, on my next days off.

A good cowboy sizes things up before he heads in for the game.

Besides your name, your number is what they know you by. Gotta attach a score to something.

A cowboy's gotta get his mind right, before just jumpin' into things.
Image

It ain't all about the rodeo, there's camping too. It's a nice way to unwind after the rodeo excitement is behind you.

Of course, you gotta water your horse, cause it's summer out here in the big west and it gets hot.

Cool pics, that rodeo business looks as pricey as duck hunting!

It's like anything, the initial cost is where they get you. Of course, he has sponsors, sort of. He has Paw Paw and Grandma.

Damn, I'm jealous of a little kid. I wish I got to do stuff like that when I was younger.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

This is pretty cool QH. Always been a fan of rodeo. Been the Cheyenne frontier days a couple times and the Cody night rodeo. My dad always took me to PBR when it came to Georgia.

Honestly, I don't think it is any more dangerous than riding a bike or a quad.
You'll see when I post up more pics, they were very protective of the little guys. He always wears a helmet too. Usually he wears a helmet anytime he is on a horse but, his Momma "OK'd" the cowboy hat for the pictures.
It's all about livin' life and he is livin' it to it's fullest.

Yup, mutton bustin'. At 3 years old, he was probably the youngest there.
Huntall, did you notice his stirrups. They hang from the saddlehorn and are perfect length for him.

Thanks for the comments guys and I'll post more on my day off, if I have time. I have some pics of the ride from the sheep to the dirt. I think you guys will like them.

Those stirrups are great! We will need a set here soon for my little one.

Kids got some jewels to be on with riding at 3!! I have seen some 8(ish) year olds turn out even with the protective gear.
