My son and grandson will be here, probably Friday some time. When I get off work on Saturday morning, I'll meet them at the river to fish salmon and/or steelhead. I'm picking up a bunch of live mudbugs to cook up ahead of time on Tuesday. So, we'll probably eat a cooler full of those while we're fishing. Then Saturday night or Sunday, we'll grill some fresh tuna and salmon, if we get any. Monday they fly out at 06:00am so I'll probably bowhunt Monday and Tuesday, unless I get a lead on some Dove.

Salmon fishing on Saturday. Dove hunting Sunday Monday and I would imagine lots of bbq and beer would also be consumed in large quantity. Probably dove hunt almost if not every day of the season.

Labor Day weekend, I am planning on taking the kids up to the mountains to our cabin. Hopefully it will give my wife a nice quiet weekend. My Dad and a few friends should be going, so it should be fun. Take the kids out fishing and for a hike or two. I have been teaching my eight year old how to drive a stick, it is pretty fun. He hasn't hit anything yet.

I'm lamenting the end of summer and with it all the short shorts and tight clothes.

Starting the preparations for the weekend.
Got the mudbugs done.

Image

We'll wait for Saturday to grill the fresh tuna and hopefully we will catch a salmon on Saturday morning to throw on the barbi. My friend caught a salmon this morning and saved a chunk for us, just in case it doesn't go as hoped out in the boat.

I'll be marlin fishing Sunday, and Sunday night going to a concert in Manteo by boat. Then Monday going goose/dove hunting.

This weekend is our family vacation. Working a prca rodeo and camping (term used very loosely) at the adjacent campground. I am also gonna hook up with lostpup for a hunt on Sunday. I hope it goes as well as last year. 5 man limit in about 5 min of shooting. I am super excited about this trip because it will be Karissa's first year! I will post a pic of her with the best rodeo clown of all time, Rudy Burns!

Where's the event? I went to the rodeo held in Peoria for several years in a row, but never a prca event...

Palestine il. Pioneer city, the first in IL. Been happening for close to 50 years. It held the world record bullride until that BS perfect score a few years ago.

I could see you having a show like that, but you would rush in with a piece of rebar and beat the fuck out of all the critters instead of catching them with your hands. Probably wouldn't be safe for views of all ages.

Fun fact, that show is all setup. He planted the snakes in the pool episode in my hometown and was fined by the city for not properly asking to do so.

Are you saying that a "reality TV show" is fake??!! No shit?!

I hate "reality" TV, it is all fake bullshit. I can't wait for this reality fad to pass.
