Sorry, Tapatalk crashed and I got cut off mid story

So the kid in this video, Noah, was along on his second or third ever goose hunt and had yet to get a shot on a bird. My buddy John (who is shooting the video) called me the night before this hunt and asked if it would be cool if he brought the newbie along. Of course we were all happy to have the kid along and were dedicated to making sure he got out and got his first birds.

Noah's father had passed away at age 41 about 2 weeks before this hunt, after

several years of battling cancer.

I was really impressed with this kid considering all he's been through, and hearing him yell "I got one" I had to look away and then hustle after the geese, so he wouldn't see the tears.

It's a crappy video, shot on an iPhone in the wind and rain, but is a real special memory for me.

It's a great video to spark such a memory.

Had to smile today.

A few short years ago - these were my nephews.

And here they are today. They found the field. They got permission. They set up the spread. They did the shooting.

Great thread and I feel like its our generations responsibility that our sons and daughters are taught about American outdoor heritage. This first pic was taken yesterday and my son had a ball. Y'all take care and God bless.

And last but not least is every Texan boy needs to know how to ride a horse. These are our paints Scout and Bandit.

Again great thread and hope everyone has a great season. Ready for it to cool off down here in South Texas.
