No I really mean, for your sake, that your lord forgives you. I do hope that everyone that chooses a religion is right about their choices. 100% serious about that.

What's wrong with that? Another common misconception is that you must go to church to practice a Christian religion...we might have a good topic for a new CI thread...

Organized religion is a scam. I'm a Christian and believe strongly in the teachings of Christ, but organized religion is pretty much against what Christ taught.

Negative, I'm not judgmental on that stuff. It's your choice to follow your religion of choice however you see fit. The above is just how I see fit. #freewill

I know just wanted to see how you responded. I don't care how others see it either. Theres a lot of play in Christianity as you can see by all the different denominations.

This. It drives my wife crazy. She's a devout Catholic, still very rarely misses a Sunday at church. I still go to church with her when I can (retail makes it hard), but I'm of the belief that going to church on Sunday has about zero to do with who you are as a Christian. Not saying you can't be a good Christian and do so, but doing so does not make one a Christian. I like to think I see more of God on a morning in the blind than most will in their lives.

If you want to go down that road almost all of the important celebrations in Christianity are based on pagan holidays and traditions. They did that so more people would become Christians.

The modern English term Easter, cognate with modern German Ostern, developed from the Old English word Ēastre or Ēostre.[nb 2] This is generally held to have originally referred to the name of an Anglo-Saxon goddess, Ēostre, a form of the widely attested Indo-European dawn goddess.[nb 3] The evidence for the Anglo-Saxon goddess, however, has not been universally accepted, and some have proposed that Eostre may have meant "the month of opening" or that the name Easter may have arisen from the designation of Easter Week in Latin as in albis.[24][25]

Christmas goes along with the winter solstice which was a big deal with pagans. I don't remember everything on it. They have a lot of info on it on the History channel every year and go pretty deep into all of it.

That explains the name, not the holiday itself.

Christ rising from the grave (Easter) was not based on a pagan holiday. Also I don't think that Good chose to have Mary give birth to his son (Christmas) based on a pagan holiday...
