Cold front finally hit South Texas

Postby Laguna Madre » Sun Sep 22, 2013 7:07 pm

I was getting sick of this freaking heat. A couple of days ago it was 95 and humid. Today it was a frosty 82. Almost had to put on a jacket. Looking forward to heading North in a couple of weeks. Been thinking about moving North in my retirement. Montana and Wyoming are the front runners. Montana seems like a sportsman paradise.

Has felt amazing since yesterday here. Even saw 59 when I got up this morning, first below 60 this fall.

Mercury said 38º when we left to take the kid hunting this morning. It felt good.

I won't bring anyone with me. My State is getting over run with Californians, New Englanders and folks from South of the Border looking for work. We had three pursuits yesterday and caught around 30. And thats just from my 10 mile stretch of river I was on. Imagine how many made it through. I've lived in Texas, Alabama, Colorado and California and traveled all over the world. I really like the Mountain West and I'm getting sick of the heat and crowds. I don't know many Montanans but sounds like ya'll don't want your State over run as well. I can understand that.

Full up with fuckin' Californians that want to pay California prices for everything and build their McMansion getaway homes that they might use for 2 weeks a year.

When we got to Rocky Mountain National Park this afternoon it was 42 deg and snowing up on the mountains. Most of the roads are washed out from last weeks floods and it is raining again. Fuck this shit, give me the south coast of Texas any day where I can go fishing anytime I want and duck hunt every day in season.

try 3 days! I built quite a few McMansions in Big Sky, fucking hated it. if you move to Montana, you have to accept the lifestyle. Montanans hate people who come here and then try to change it to the shithole they came from. Idaho has the same problem, but only in the Boise area.
