i dunno, i've heard it's opening early this year, but i honestly haven't even looked. if i go duck hunting, i'm going to fail classes, so i find it best to distance myself from the addiction.

Nevermind, looked it up. It is tomorrow. I should probably go buy a duck stamp and license sometime soon. Fucking September and October is brown duck season anyways.

Yeah it seems like FWP didn't do their part on getting the regs out on time.

I don't really care to get out until around Thanksgiving unless I plug an elk on the opener. Although I do know of a pond that's holding some greenwing with some color and at least 200 pintails on it right now. Sacrilege to shoot brown pintails?

Right now I don't want to think about shooting another elk. Last years was brutal hell to get out.

can't blame them, that's federal level. After working for FWP and getting to know the system, I can tell you that most of the public is blissfully ignorant to everything done by the fish and game.

They do taste great, I've shot a ton of brown ones. I've definitely squared up on a fully plumed drake and whiffed all three shots. He even gave me a second chance later that day.

I've never seen a full plumed pintail in Montana, in fact, i don't see much outside of gads, teal and divers.

btw, how was your 'Stone float trip?

It was awesome! Fishing was less than mediocre the first two days and lights out the third, but you can't go wrong having good times with friends!
