I only had him out once, and I couldn't stop him from lapping at the water, so I'm holding off until he's older, and has been "no'd" off of drinking the water from the ponds we normally swim in.

I'll more than likely just mount it right there in the field.

Getting bigger. First bumper today he swam out about 20 yards and brought it back like a champ. Next one, he acted like he forgot how to swim. I thought the dumbass was gonna drown. Paddling with front feet only, head straight up in the air. I don't get it. Didn't/couldn't swim a lick after that first one today.

Something tells me it is more of a game. Have you tried throwing dead pigeons for him?

Its because he's got no tail. You know this.

Dad came by and fed Taz tonight, let him inside with a bumper. He refused to drop it, even for sleep.

Bell and Pintail.jpg
DSCN1053.JPG

Bell and a pintail and Hans and two pintails. We had to get Hans out of school early for an afternoon hunt and the benefit of bringing Hans rather than Bell is that Hans comes with the ability to kill six more ducks and doesn't shake water all over the blind.

Finally, he decides he can remember how to swim. Like the last 4 days never happened. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

No way. We were gonna get a new one, then we got The Dingo. I said no way would we get a new couch with a puppy in the house. Then it got strung out into a year, and here comes Dutch. Maybe next year. Not wasting money until I'm sure those jackasses won't piss on it.

But yes, it will be from a flea market. Or yard sale. Or somewhere other than a furniture store. I think the only place with markups as high as a furniture store is a mattress shop.
