Yes or no.

Can I as a California citizen walk into a sporting good store and buy a AR-15 off the rack brand new that has not be altered in anyway?
nope. And your point?

Okay if you want to jump back on that.

I was kind of right about the AR-15, you CANNOT have a traditionally unmolested AR-15 in California that was not grandfathered in.

And as far as the CCW goes, I technically could go to the moon too but that doesn't mean I'm going to. I doubt very much unless you live in one of the more rural areas of the state and have more of a reason then "I want it" that I would be granted a CCW. "May Issue" states are just "no issue" states hiding in plain sight.

I can't speak for the other California counties but the one boot and I work for issue lots of cc permits. Our sheriff is very pro guns.

Back to to OP, I don't hunt with 'cherry pickers'. Either you're in, or you're out. None of this "call me when it gets good" shit.

I'm the same way. I had a E-7 who invited himself on a hunt with me one morning. Good guy but he never showed up that morning when I talked to him just the night before He said he over slept. Few weeks later he did the same thing. On the 3rd time he invited himself I had to decline. He was a little offended.

Me and gadwall have a buddy who after receiving an invite would say, "I don't know, you think it's worth my time". He doesn't get invited much anymore.

In fact the ones I'm familiar with, unless they've been banned in which I should know this because of my profession, use a tool, maybe an allen wrench to loosen the button to release the mag. Everyone I know just leaves the button loose so the tool isn't needed and the mag release functions normally. They just keep the tool handy in case green jeans is around

This guy and I were new to duck hunting in Humboldt and kinda naturally started hunting together bout 6 years ago.

I brought to the table numerous goose fields and private duck spots. He brought one goose field that he didn't have to work for cause its owned by his MIL. But that's fine. Except over the years he doesn't wanna hunt his field anymore. Every year he wants to hunt opening weekend with us at our hot spots, then suddenly gets too busy to hunt the rest of the season.

His field is on my beat so he asks me to keep an eye on the bird situation.

"hey birds are in like crazy"

"yea I don't think I can make it out this week"

So I mentioned that we were full for the weekend.

Oh and have I mentioned he hates to work for his birds?

I didnt say Red or the good people of Cali, I said the liberal do gooders.

I GET IT that not every one there is a tree hugging fag.

So, I stand by my original statement. The liberal do gooders would have a heart attack if they saw the gun culture here. Red and his duck hunting buddies, not so much.

I've had a few of those " FRIENDS" in the past. They don't even wave when you drive by them. A few days before season they can't stop calling you...... do what I did. Dont respond till after you go out hunting. Over the years I've trimmed the dead wieght buddys away. Keep to your core hunting crew. It always makes things a lot easier.

Elk are hard to come by here in MT sometimes. I'll take anybody on a buck hunt, but if we see an elk, chances are I'm going to kill that elk, then maybe you, just depends if you an keep shut up about it...
