I'm not sure if it made the urban dictionary yet, but rest assured, if it entails me losing 18,000 reward points, it'll be well-earned.

With Assa's Google search history that would probably fall in the much more timid spectrum.

you're right, it kind of did set the stage for this. I didn't intend for that, and i normally don't give a shit.

I originally voted to leave it alone, but if it's gotten to the point that people aren't going to post because a thread will be derailed, maybe it's time to change the standard. I think we should be able to fuck around, but we have to exercise some caution. evidently we haven't since this is now an issue that apparently has to be dealt with. Just by looking at this thread you can see it has become an "Us versus them" mentality, and it will continue to get worse as time goes on. Some people need to stop bitching, but at the same time, if you're showing a pattern of brutal responses, you need to rethink posting and derailing threads. Yes, i posted in my sourdough thread for people to not fingerfuck my thread, i did not PM Olly about it, he jumped in on his own. I don't have a problem if someone wants serious responses, but i don't like it when shit gets moderated to the point that it is on DHC, and don't want to see that here. I think we can settle this without the childish behaviors presented earlier. Ultimately though, this is Olly's forum and his decision.

MT brings up a good point. Do we want to be the best smart asses on the web or the best source for waterfowl info on the web. Does it really serve the long term good of the site to blurt out what ever seems funny at the moment or is it better to show a tiny shred of respect for peoples original posts?

Would it be a good idea to have one board for total ass grabbery and use the balance to talk about (gasp) waterfowl topics?? Or are we better off with total anarchy in every thread to feel really macho and "free"?

Tom, you are half of the total problem. You hold grudges and never let shit go. you carry that to other threads where they get mucked up in the shit you start back up. You also like to post snide little comments that you know will fire people up. I'm not saying you hold total fault, but you need to learn to let shit go. for an example, it's been 3 months and you are still bitching about your fucking boat thread in here. Stop acting like a fucking 8 year old for once and people won't hammer on you.

Probably one of the best problems anyone could ever have.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

at this point i think Olly should just make an independent decision on it, otherwise this is going to be an ongoing issue.

I vote leave it the way it is. What's wrong with handling threads going off topic like big boys? How about having a laugh and respectfully asking to stay on topic? I'll bet that works 100% better than freaking out, calling people cocksuckers, taking your rage to other threads and holding grudges. I don't start many threads, but I don't mind letting them go off topic, they only usually do so when the thread has run its course anyway, and you guys are always make them interesting.

There are a lot of great guys on here with lots of great information to share, this whole off topic "issue" doesn't change that, just makes it more interesting. Seriously, if you want more rules, go to DHC. Oh wait...8-)
