Never going to happen. State land that isn't going to see many $ come its way...The problem is that place is too close to a very productice area, and is an old coal mine. The water is deep all around. Can't wade anywhere. The ducks prefer to hang out in the shallows next door. Great view though!

I'm in the north, and it's been great. Best start I've ever had...That picture was from the central zone on the opener, and there doesn't seem to be many birds in the area yet. That particular area is feast or famine though (from what I've heard), but normally famine.

Here's a few. Had a two man mallard limit with no pictures...one of my hunting partners wears a go pro, and films the whole time. Puts together good videos, and I forget to take pictures. Maybe I'll post some of those.

In the two weekends so far me and my buddies have killed 2 blue-winged teal, 3 green-winged teal, 1 wood duck drake, and a mating pair of hooded mergansers, so i nice variety but overall its been kinda slow. We hunt and live about an hour south of Chicago

A few pictures from my recent trip to NoDak. Birds were kind of scarce (just showing up in force this week), but we were able to scratch out a few good shoots.

First pheasants of the year, doubled up.

Pheasants.jpg

One of the few large geese we shot, full brow.

Brow.jpg

One of our few decent mallard shoots.

Marsh.jpg

Had a bang up shoot on lessers (think we ended up with 41), I'm still searching for pics, but there are about 5-6 in that group that appear to be Aleutians from what I can tell. Perhaps some Cali boys can verify once I locate a pic.

Lessers.jpg

LesserGroup.jpg

The reason I go to NoDak, mallards in a field, nothing better.

MallardField.jpg

Especially when this happens...
