Hello to all! Been enjoying your posts and couldn't help but sign up. I'm 56 yrs old and have been hunting ducks and fishing in our delta since I was a tike, spending at least one day (usually two), on the water every week throughout the year. Duck hunting has been my passion as far back as I can remember, and most of my vacation days are taken during the season. I fish hard, but hunt harder, and love every minute of it! Most of my hunts are 'old school", using a 13' LaSarge w/25 hp yammie, or out of a duck sneak in the hard to reach places. Have watched the duck numbers explode (late 70's), and wane during the late 80's, with limits going from 10 ducks to 3, and am happy that we now have a reasonable limit of 6. The majority of ducks that mosey off the main Miss. flyway and drop in on us are gadwalls, with a sprinkling of just about everything else.
Thanks to all for your posts, and I will add one here and there as the season progresses. Headed to Venice, LA in the morning for the opening weekend, and am stoked. The sheer number of birds down in that marsh are staggering, and I look forward to at least one trip down there each year. Have a friend with a camp about 20 miles south of Venice, and he and another buddy turned me onto that world 10 years ago...........friggin' awesome

Will try to take a few pics and post a report when I get back.
