The "what ya sippin on?" thread

Postby BrewGUN » Sat Nov 09, 2013 7:41 am

Got a text from my insurance agent/friend yesterday, he said his co worker had a present for me. I show up to their office after work and he's got this for me.
Image
His co worker and a couple buddies set some tasting up where a rep from BT brought samples up from three bbls and they tasted them and bought one. So he has like 3 cases and thought he share with us(I drop cases if beer in the back if their trucks occasionally).
Barrel number 122.

So that's what I'll be sippin on tonight, what about you?

I got some clear white lightning in a jar. Made it from horse feed and holy shit it has kick. 151 proof. One sip will do ya.

sent from my fancy phone that has a really cool kickstand via tapaskwawk

you put fruit in a mason jar and bury it in a 3 foot hole for the winter. stable temp and it ferments, in spring you pull it out and strain out the fruit chunks.

Calvados, sounds fancier. As long as you like it, who cares what you call it or whether it tastes like some comercial crap, allegedly.

Would be a cool experiment. But there are ways to get a drink that don't involve digging a three foot hole or remembering where said hole was dug for a whole year.

I do something similar but make wine. Fruit, water, sugar, and sometimes yeast. Let it ferment and strain it. Always turns out stout like a brandy.

yeah you wouldn't have to bury it, you just do it for the stable temperature.

I'm gonna save my BT for tomorrow. The wife andI went to the works brewpub so I'm pretty tuned up on beer right now, I'd hate to waste it since my taste buds have just ran a gauntlet.
