Howdy (that's how we say "hello" in the Bluegrass State),

I've been lurking and reading for a little while now, and have to say that you got yourselves a pretty nice little corner of the interwebs here: Lots of good info, and plenty of ball-busting so no one takes themselves too seriously.

Anyway, this is my first season watefowlin', so I have been making good use of the Greenhorn forum, so thanks for that. So far I have been hunting in Michigan with my father-in-law, and am looking forward to the Kentucky season opening so I can start trying to put some of what I have learned so far to use on my own. While I am incredibly grateful to my FIL for taking me out and showing me the ropes and teaching me a ton, I find that, at least for me, I also learn a lot when hunting alone because I can experiment and try different tactics etc. without interfering with someone elses hunt. That being said, if anyone in the Northern Ky area doesn't mind taking a rookie out and showing him the way, I'd be very grateful and probably express that gratitude with a nice bottle of bourbon (or a BPS/Cabela's gift card if Bourbon is not your style).
