How is your season going FC?

Good. I got spoiled for the last couple of years, and the action isn't half what it was then. The blacks and geese were really skittish from the start, barely any teal. For the last two weekends, all we could find were.mergansers, first hoodies, then commons. Going to start focusing on sea ducks and goldeneyes now, maybe late season blacks and geese if we're lucky.

Man..that sucks on the ducks and geese...may need to fine some new spots. We use to get in on some later season blacks, but come Nov..we mainly zeroed in on whistlers and bluebills. We didn't do much goose hunting, as there weren't many in our area. There are lots now...but the guys say they are hard to get.
I was unable to hunt this year...but I have been out calling and getting pictures with the guys. I've only been out with them twice.

Got to hunt over some DSD's..but no geese showed up that day









We had Dakota and Bigfoot and some GH floaters..

I think it might have something to do with all the new duck commanders with their new 3 1/2" escorts. They seem to think they are shooting 300 win mags.

Hahaha...lots of DD newbies down this way too. They watch a few videos and dvd's on duck and goose calling..and they are experts...but they have to start some where unfortunately.
Yeah, it really sucks I can't hunt this year...but, always next year.

My wife hasn't worked in almost 2 years, so I couldn't afford a licence and if I could I really couldn't afford to go anywhere. It came down to putting food on the table...or go hunting.
My wife had fell and broke, split and shattered her femur on Feb 23, 2012...all my pay goes to bills and grub and gas....it's pretty depressing, so I'm hoping and praying, that I can hunt next year.

Wow man sorry to hear that. Glad to hear though that you're man enough to prioritize. But like Ron said welcome to the forum. Hopefully WFF can somewhat fill that void
